Congratulations on deciding on a nursing career. You’ve made a great career choice. According to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, “[r]egistered nurses constitute the largest healthcare field” [and] “[e]mployment of RNs is expected to grow much faster than average.” But before you can participate in the nursing profession, you must meet certain educational requirements.
Fortunately, South University’s Nursing Program can help you to meet these educational requirements.
South University was established in 1899 when Dr. John Draughon opened it as a Practical Business College. This college became a successful educational institution. With continued educational excellence came continued expansion and, in time, the school went from a 2-year college into a 4-year university. Today, South University offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs that a student can pursue at one of several campus locations or online.
South University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in Decatur, Georgia. This accreditation allows them to award associate, bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees.
In addition, South University has requested an evaluation of their bachelors and masters of nursing degree programs by the Commission on Collegiate Nurse Education (CCNE). This evaluation has been scheduled for April 20 through April 23, 2010.
Such accreditation guarantees that you will receive an education that meet (or exceeds) industry standards.
